Into the woods indeed…

This one’s for all the kids in Chennai! Summer holidays are coming to an end and this forest camp may be the perfect way to top it off.

How, you ask? Picture this –  a verdant canopy of trees, birds fluttering around, crickets chirping and so on. And amidst all of this, kids having fun, learning about the outdoors and exploring nature like they never have before! Sounds so green and fresh doesn’t it? Do read on…

This nature camp is being conducted at the Guindy National Reserve Forest and is being organized by the Bay of Life Surf School (you know, the rockstars who teach surfing at Covelong? Yep, that’s them!)

These experiential camps will be held by a team of biologists and herpetologists including Siddharth Chandrashekar and Kevin Moses, a marine biologist who specialises in coral restoration.

The happy campers will go on a scavenger hunt, observe birds and plants, study insects and soil. In a day and age where concrete and cement are taking over every inch of land, exploring a national park in the heart of our city will be a refreshing change and also provide an opportunity for kids to become one with nature.

When’s this happening? – May 24, 2017, Wednesday. What’s more, the camp will be conducted in two batches from 6 am to 9 am and 4 pm to 7 pm.

The camps are open to children aged between seven and 15 years and charge ₹450 per child. If I were you, I would hurry up though because they take in only 25 kids per batch and they sell out soon!
