About your host:

Dr. Uma Vangal is a feminist scholar, an independent documentary filmmaker and a visiting professor of Films at Kenyon College believes in the notion that everybody today can be a filmmaker using everyday technology. Dr. Vangal has immense teaching experience particularly in the field of Communication & Media studies and has worked in various prestigious colleges including the L.V Prasad Film & TV Academy. 

Dr. Vangal will explain how one can make a film using basic everyday devices such as our iPhones, iPads, smart phones, DSLR cameras or any other obtainable recording device that one might posses. Participants will learn to use different software ranging from open source to specialised; additionally lighting techniques and available platforms to show their films will be explored.
